1. Overview
TrueTally is a personal finance app that helps you record income and expenses, organize transactions by category, and view summaries of your finances.
The app is designed for local, offline use. Core features such as recording transactions, viewing summaries, filtering by date, and changing app preferences are intended to work on your device without an account.
Important: TrueTally may use third-party services for advertising or Google Play purchases. Those services may process information as described in their own privacy policies. The final policy should be checked against the exact SDKs and features included in the released app.
2. Information handled by the app
Depending on the features you use, TrueTally may store the following information on your device:
- Income and expense names, amounts, dates, and categories you enter.
- Custom categories you create.
- App preferences, such as your selected theme and currency symbol.
- Purchase status needed to determine whether ads should be removed.
TrueTally does not need your name, contacts, or an account login to provide its core tracking features. Do not enter sensitive information into transaction names or categories unless you want it stored in the app.
3. Local storage and offline use
Your financial records and app preferences are intended to be stored locally on your Android device. The core app does not require a TrueTally account or cloud sync to record and review transactions.
Because records are stored on your device, uninstalling the app, clearing its app data, or losing or resetting your device may remove those records. Unless a separate backup feature is provided, TrueTally cannot recover locally stored records for you.
TrueTally lets you choose a currency symbol for display. Changing the symbol does not convert transaction amounts or provide exchange-rate calculations.
4. Advertising
The free version of TrueTally may display ads. If advertising is enabled, the advertising provider may collect or receive information such as advertising identifiers, app interactions, device information, approximate location derived from network information, or diagnostic data, subject to the provider’s setup and your device settings.
Advertising providers may use information to deliver, measure, or personalize ads, as permitted by applicable law and your choices. Review the privacy policy and data safety information of the advertising provider used in the released app.
If the app’s advertising setup changes, this policy and the app’s Google Play Data safety disclosures should be updated to match.
5. Remove Ads purchases
TrueTally may offer a one-time purchase to remove ads. Purchases are processed by Google Play. TrueTally does not receive or store your full payment card details.
Google Play may process purchase details and account information to complete, manage, and restore purchases under Google’s terms and privacy policy. The app may check purchase status to enable the ad-free feature.
Purchase and restoration features require an internet connection and may not be available offline. Other core tracking features are designed to work offline.

7. Data retention and deletion
Financial records and preferences stored locally remain on your device until you delete them, clear the app’s data, or uninstall the app. You can manage individual transactions within the app where those controls are available.
Third-party providers may retain information they process according to their own policies and legal obligations. Deleting local app data does not necessarily delete information already held by Google Play or an advertising provider.
8. Security
TrueTally uses Android’s app storage mechanisms to keep its local data within the app’s storage area. No method of electronic storage is completely secure. Protect your device with a screen lock and keep Android and the app updated.
Anyone with access to your unlocked device or app data may be able to view information stored in TrueTally.
9. Children’s privacy
TrueTally is a general personal finance tool and is not designed specifically for children. The app does not knowingly ask children to provide personal information. If you believe a child has provided personal information through a third-party feature, contact us using the details below.
Before publishing, confirm the app’s intended age group and that the advertising setup complies with applicable child privacy and Google Play Families requirements, if relevant.
10. Third-party services
Google Play and any advertising provider included in the released app operate under their own terms and privacy policies. TrueTally does not control how those providers process information. Check the app’s Google Play listing for the current Data safety disclosures.
11. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the app changes or when legal requirements change. The latest version will be published on this page, with the effective date updated accordingly. Please review it from time to time.
